About onpit
onpit aims to become more than a brand: a name for self-hosted open-source and European solutions, with privacy and security at the centre, especially in the age of AI.
Vision
A time when your own IT and your own AI sit at home and in your business, not with some distant corporation. Self-hosting should become as natural as “in the cloud” is today.
Mission
onpit is a hardware deeptech company. We build hardware on which the onpit stack runs fully set up and tuned together, made exclusively from first-rate open-source or European solutions that already exist.
For everyone, the guides, documentation and code are open; anyone is invited to build onpit and help develop it. Businesses get their own onpit solution, with or without our hardware. And we get people and businesses ready for their own AI brain, set up by us if they like, or built themselves with our guides.
Goal
Saying “onpit” should mean: self-hosted, open source or European, private and secure. We want to measure that not by advertising, but by how many people build onpit themselves, how many devices and solutions are in use, and how many AI requests never leave the building.

The founder
Immanuel Kutzbach
Immanuel Kutzbach is an entrepreneur from Munich who studied at the Technical University of Munich. His IT career began alongside his studies at a large Munich consultancy: as a working student, then as an IT specialist and IT administrator. In 2020 he co-founded his first IT company, which he now runs as managing director and which operates IT for other businesses.
In that work he sees every day how readily businesses rent their data, their communication and now their AI from a handful of large corporations. onpit is his answer: a company of its own, with the goal of making self-hosting natural again.
He builds onpit the way he recommends to others: on his own hardware, with open software, and with everything that goes wrong along the way documented openly.
